A little bit about Boise Pickle Palooza........
Boise Pickle Palooza was born out of a shared passion for pickleball and a deeply personal connection to the fight against brain tumors and brain cancer. What began as a vision between three individuals has grown into a community-wide event filled with energy, competition, and heart — all in support of the American Brain Tumor Association.
Our Founders
- Jim Reilly – As Vice President, Human Resources at WinCo Foods and Board Member for the American Brain Tumor Association, Jim has spent years championing the cause. Having been personally affected by brain tumors and brain cancer, his leadership and commitment to advocacy are at the core of this event.
- Nicholas Wade – A brain tumor survivor, Nicholas embodies resilience and determination. An aspiring pickleball professional and former coach at The Flying Pickle, Nicholas brings both skill and heart to the court. His journey inspires the competitive spirit and hope that drives Boise Pickle Palooza.
- Melissa Ivers – A Boise-based realtor with a strong community focus, Melissa has also been personally touched by brain cancer. Her dedication to turning personal hardship into meaningful impact has been instrumental in bringing the Boise Pickle Palooza vision to life.

Boise Pickle Palooza is more than a tournament — it’s a movement. Every serve, rally, and match represents hope, resilience, and the fight for a cure. Together with our sponsors, volunteers, and players, we hope to build a tradition that blends the joy of pickleball with the power of giving back.

To raise awareness, inspire action, and generate vital support for brain tumor research and patient services, all while celebrating the game we love and the community we call home.
